Split Peak
Last updated: July 20, 2026
Split Peak ("we", "the app") helps groups split and settle shared expenses. We built it to collect as little as possible: there are no accounts, no sign-up, no ads, and no tracking. This policy explains what data the app handles and why.
We do not collect your contacts, location, browsing history, or advertising identifiers, and we do not ask for an email address or password to use the app.
Data is used solely to provide the app's features — storing your groups, calculating who owes whom, converting currencies, and delivering notifications you've opted into. We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
We rely on a few processors to run the app, who handle data only on our behalf:
Group content is visible to anyone who has your group's join code or link — that's how group members see the same data. We don't share your data with anyone else except the service providers above.
Group data is kept until the group is deleted. Anyone in a group can delete it at any time from the group's Settings, which permanently removes that group's data from our servers. To turn off notifications, disable them in your device settings.
Receipt photos are kept for 12 months, then automatically deleted. Deleting the expense or the group removes the photo straight away. The line items and amounts read from a receipt are part of your group's expense history and are kept for as long as the group is.
We keep encrypted backups so we can recover from a failure. Data you delete may persist in these backups for up to 3 months before it is permanently removed.
All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, but we keep data collection minimal to limit exposure.
Split Peak is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
If we update this policy, we'll revise the date above and post the new version at this URL.
